"They are basket weavings," shares Shirod of the weave designs that wrap around the Our Ancestors' Gifts Water Bottle. "Sometimes our baskets will have multiple design elements to it; sometimes just one." In his  Our Ancestors' Gifts Water Bottle design, Shirod has layered seven bands of weaving elements, using color and line thickness to create visual texture. In this way, Shirod's design continues the ancestral weaving tradition in a wholly new format.
