The Classic Woodland Throw Blanket was designed by Inspired Natives® Project collaborator Sarah Agaton Howes (Anishinaabe), who is known for her beautiful bead work, moccasins and regalia. With this design, she intends to remind us of the beauty and reinvigorating energy of spring time.
The vibrant blanket features numerous design elements indicative of traditional Anishinaabe flora, including the ode'imin (strawberry), manoomin (wild rice), miinan (blueberry), and bimaakwad (the vine) showing us the connection of all things.

- Fabric Content: 100% Cotton.
- Blanket size: (60" X 50"/ 152.4 cm x 127 cm)
- Light Woodlands throw colors: light tan, green, violet, light purple, and burgundy
- Black Woodlands throw colors: black, green, burgundy, light green, light blue, white, and yellow

- Machine wash in cold water on gentle cycle, mild detergent
- Non-chlorine bleach when needed

Ojibwe designs are known for their floral motifs, reflecting the foods and medicines of the community. An example of traditional Ojibwe botanical design is shown on this pair of award-winning moccasins sewn and beaded by Sarah. Sarah used glass beads and porcupine quills to illustrate a strawberry and flower; the shoes are made of brain-tanned deer hide, a wool army blanket, and fabric strips from her daughter’s jingle dress.
